Designing Through Difficult Times
Auntie Anna approached us during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, just as Ottawa faced widespread shutdowns. With restaurants forced to pivot quickly, she wanted a simple, easy-to-navigate website to showcase her menu and keep her beloved takeout spot running. What started as a straightforward project became a meaningful collaboration — full of warmth, laughter, and Auntie Anna’s no-nonsense charm.
We kept things true to her vision: clean, minimal, and approachable. The Wok’It logo was set in Lato font, just how she liked it — playful yet modern. Built on React, the site featured an accessible menu layout and light branding touches that reflected the heart of the kitchen. Alongside the website, we supported her with digital marketing and brand positioning to help keep orders coming in while indoor dining remained closed.
"We let the food speak — clean, simple, and no distractions."
